영어 어순의 비밀: 의문문 어순

의문문은 조동사/be동사가 주어 앞으로 이동: Do you like it? / Is she coming?

의문문의 기본 어순

영어 의문문은 평서문과 어순이 다릅니다. be동사: 주어 앞으로 • She is happy. → Is she happy? • They were late. → Were they late? 일반동사: do/does/did + 주어 + 동사원형 • You like coffee. → Do you like coffee? • She works here. → Does she work here? • He went home. → Did he go home? 💡 조동사(can, will, should 등)도 주어 앞으로: Can you swim?

Wh- 의문문

Wh- 의문사 + 의문문 어순: • Where do you live? (어디에 사세요?) • What did she say? (그녀가 뭐라고 했어요?) • When will they arrive? (언제 도착해요?) • Why are you crying? (왜 울어요?) • How does this work? (이것 어떻게 작동해요?) 💡 Wh- + 조동사/do + 주어 + 동사원형

주어를 묻는 의문문 (예외!)

Wh- 의문사가 주어일 때는 어순 변화 없음! • Who called you? ✅ (누가 전화했어?) ❌ Who did call you? (불필요) • What happened? ✅ (무슨 일이 있었어?) ❌ What did happen? 비교: • Who did you call? (너는 누구에게 전화했어? — 목적어) • Who called you? (누가 너에게 전화했어? — 주어) 💡 의문사 = 주어이면 do/does/did 불필요!

한국인이 자주 틀리는 의문문

• ❌ Where you are going? → ✅ Where are you going? (be동사를 주어 앞으로) • ❌ What you want? → ✅ What do you want? (do를 넣어야 함) • ❌ Why did you went? → ✅ Why did you go? (did 뒤에는 동사원형) • ❌ How much this costs? → ✅ How much does this cost? (does 추가, costs → cost)
