관계부사란?

관계부사는 관계대명사처럼 두 문장을 연결하지만, 장소/시간/이유를 나타냅니다. • This is the place. I was born here. → This is the place where I was born. 'here'가 'where'로 바뀌면서 연결됩니다.

where = 장소

when = 시간

why = 이유

• That's the reason why I left early. • I don't understand the reason why she cried. • Tell me the reason why you're late. 💡 why 뒤에는 항상 'the reason'이 선행사로 옵니다. 실제로 'the reason why'에서 why를 생략하는 것이 더 자연스러운 경우가 많습니다: That's the reason I left early.
